When Should You Go Straight to the Emergency Room?
5 June 2026

Chest pain radiating to the arm or jaw, sudden breathlessness, one-sided weakness or slurred speech are time-critical emergencies. Minutes decide outcomes.
For children, persistent high fever, refusal to feed, fits or laboured breathing warrant immediate assessment rather than waiting for the next OPD.
In pregnancy, heavy bleeding, severe abdominal pain, reduced fetal movement or severe headache require urgent review. Our emergency department is staffed 24 hours a day.
